Falz Says 2023 Election Will Be Most Important In Nigeria’s History

Comedian and singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has said that the 2023 general elections will be the most important in the history of elections in Nigeria.

Falz who stated this during an interview with Arise TV said the youths are more interested in the upcoming election than before.

“2023 is definitely going to be a very major year for the whole country and probably the most important year in our history.

“A point where everyone is angry, agitated and nobody wants us to continue to go down the deep drain we seem to be going. I can say for sure that the youth definitely want to see a new dawn.

“I’m also doing everything in my power to get as many people to participate in the election. I think what worked against us over the years is apathy,” he said.

Mr Ibu Storms Jos For Peter Obi’s Rally After Endorsing Tinubu

Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly called Mr Ibu, is currently trending on the microblogging platform, Twitter after he stormed the rally of Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Jos.

In 2021, Mr Ibu during a conference meeting with the theme, ‘South West Stands with Bola Tinubu’ openly endorsed the former Governor of Lagos, saying he has really impacted many people.

However, the comic actor surprised many Nigerians when he turned up for the campaign rally of Obi in Plateau State, today.

Some of the videos shared online captured the moment Mr Ibu was called on stage as he prayed for the supporters of LP.

Many Nigerians reacted to the video saying the actor has allegedly collected money for the All Progressives Congress (APC) but has decided to follow his heart.

Davido, Sophia Momodu unfollow each other on Instagram, days after singer reconciled with Chioma

Days after reconciling with his third babymama and ex fiancee Chioma Rowland, Davido has clicked the unfollow button on his first babymama, Sophia Momodu.

The singer and Sophia Momodu, who is the mother of his first daughter, Imade Adeleke had been on good terms when he parted ways with Chioma in 2021.

Sophia Momodu even went as far as gifting the singer a million cheque when Davido told his loved ones and friends to contribute money for him.

In June, Davido penned a heartwarming note to her as she celebrated her birthday.

It is surprising to see that the two have reignited their fued after he got back with his ex fiancee, Chioma Rowland.

A check on their respective Instagram pages on Wednesday showed that they had unfollowed each other.

This is coming three days after Davido and Chioma had gone public with their love.

The couple left their fans screaming for joy following their reunion.

Chioma fueled reconciling rumours when she was spotted rocking his new 30BG pendant worth millions.

The pendant had the inscription, ‘002’, which implied that Chioma was the second in command of the 30BG.

In the video which made rounds, the brand influencer could be seen sitting front row as the singer gave a stellar performance.

As the camera panned to her, Chioma became shy and hid her face.

Many doubted that the couple were back until a photo of them holding hands made its way to the internet and it proved naysayers wrong.

Top media personality and businesswoman, Laura Ikeji and other concerned Nigerians have expressed their shock over the death of Laolu Martins.

Martins is one of the co-founders of Bukka Hut, a leading fast-food chain in Nigeria.

Earlier today, the family of Laolu Martins announced his death.

A statement released by the family said the quintessential banker with over 21 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, stockbroking, asset management and pension fund management, died in the evening of Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

“We hereby solicit the support and understanding of everyone as the family grieves the loss of our beloved Laolu in our privacy.

“Our kind request is that you support the family wife, children, aged mother and father and his siblings with your prayers at this difficult time.

“Further announcements will be made by the family,” the statement said.

Reacting to this news, Laura Ikeji wrote, “Wow. Too sad.”

Tochi Crusher wrote: Why??? How?? But he was rich already. Is it depression?

Martins started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999.

He joined Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc now Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc where he served in the Financial Control and Trade Finance/Foreign Operations units of the Bank before being seconded to Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Ltd where at various times he was Financial Controller, Head Asset Management and lastly Head Stockbroking.

He later resigned in 2005 to join Shell Nig. CPFA Ltd, the Fund Manager of the Shell Companies in Nigeria Pensions Scheme where he was Head, Investments up till 2008 when he resigned to join Nigeria International Security Limited, NISL, an independent financial services firm specialising in investments within the Nigerian space.
