2023 AFCONQ: Don’t Give Up On Us, Super Eagles Beg Nigerians After Loss To Guinea-Bissau

Date:

The Super Eagles have pleaded with Nigerians to keep supporting them in the aftermath of Friday's disappointing defeat to the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.

Mama Balde's 29th minute goal was the only in the encounter, condemning the Eagles to defeat in front of fervent home fans.

Jose Peseiro's side created a dozen chances in the second half but failed to get the ball into the Djurtus' net.

“Please don't give up on us. We know you deserve more and we're very much on course to make you happy,” reads a tweet on the team's official handle.

The Super Eagles have another chance to avenge the defeat when they face the Djurtus in the reverse fixture on Monday.

A win will see the three-time African champions reclaim top spot in Group A.
