Mali’s military rulers say they’ve arrested French national Yann Vezilier, accusing him of spying for France and trying to destabilise the country.
The junta claims he worked with “political leaders, civil society actors and military personnel” to undermine the government.
His arrest comes alongside two generals and more than 50 soldiers accused of plotting a coup.
Authorities say the situation is “under control” and investigations are ongoing. France is yet to comment.
