The National Assembly has announced a shift in the resumption date for its plenary activities, moving the earlier scheduled return from Tuesday, September 23, 2025 to Tuesday, 7 October 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana Esq, confirmed that the decision was made at the directive of the presiding officers of both chambers.
“The resumption date of the National Assembly earlier scheduled for Tuesday 23rd September 2025 is postponed to Tuesday 7th October 2025,” the statement read.
Mr Ogunlana, however, clarified that committee activities will continue as planned, even while the plenary sessions remain on hold.
“All Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members are requested to take note of the new date and adjust their schedules accordingly.
“Any inconvenience caused by this rescheduling is deeply regretted,” he added.
The postponement comes as the legislature prepares for the next phase of its engagements, though no specific reason was given for the change in schedule.
