The Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated Nigerians as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, calling on citizens to look ahead with optimism.
In his message, Speaker Abbas reflected on Nigeria’s long and eventful journey, noting that the years to come hold the promise of greater unity and prosperity.
He stressed that the nation is richly blessed with both human talent and natural resources, but urged that progress can only be achieved through collective effort, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political divides.
Highlighting the government’s ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Speaker said Nigeria remains firmly on the right path.
He expressed confidence that the country would not only overcome current security and economic challenges, but also reclaim its place as Africa’s largest economy.
Speaker Abbas encouraged Nigerians to remain resilient, prayerful and patriotic, while assuring them of the 10th House’s dedication to accountable leadership, good governance and tangible dividends of democracy, especially at the grassroots.
He therefore wished all Nigerians a happy Independence Anniversary.
