Nigeria Felicitates with Botswana on Independence Anniversary

Nigeria has extended warm congratulations to the Republic of Botswana as the country marks another anniversary of its independence.

In a message conveyed on behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, sent his best wishes to his counterpart, Dr. Lemogang Kwape, Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Tuggar praised Botswana’s legacy of peace, democracy and socio-economic growth, noting that these values continue to serve as an example across the continent.

He also highlighted the cordial relations between Nigeria and Botswana, which he described as being founded on mutual respect, shared ideals and a joint commitment to Africa’s development.

The minister reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Botswana in key areas such as trade, education, governance, innovation and continental integration within the African Union and other multilateral bodies.

Nigeria, he said, commends Botswana’s dedication to good governance, sustainable progress and regional stability, while looking forward to deeper collaboration for the benefit of citizens in both nations..
