Chinese Envoy Congratulates Nigeria at 65, Hails Shared National Day Bond

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has congratulated the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its people on the country’s 65th Independence anniversary, describing the day as one of “unique significance” for both nations.

In a message shared on his official Twitter page, Ambassador Yu noted the special bond between China and Nigeria, as both countries celebrate their National Day on 1 October.

“This day carries a unique significance, as China and Nigeria share October 1st as our respective National Day and Independence Day — a special bond that connects our two nations,” he wrote.

The envoy commended Nigeria’s resilience and progress over the past six and a half decades, highlighting the deepening cooperation between Abuja and Beijing.

“Over the past 65 years, Nigeria has demonstrated remarkable resilience and vitality, achieving significant progress in national development. As comprehensive strategic partners, our two countries have fostered extensive cooperation across all sectors, delivering tangible benefits to both our peoples,” Ambassador Yu stated.

He further reaffirmed China’s commitment to building stronger ties with Nigeria, particularly in advancing peace, development and shared prosperity.

“As we celebrate this shared milestone, China remains firmly committed to deepening our partnership. We look forward to strengthening our joint efforts in promoting peace, development, and shared prosperity, and contributing to a China-Nigeria community with a shared future,” he added.

The Ambassador extended his best wishes for Nigeria’s future: “I wish Nigeria continued prosperity and success and may the enduring friendship between our two nations flourish well into the future.”
