Nigeria has extended warm congratulations to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China as they mark their National Day, reaffirming its commitment to deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Beijing.
In a message conveyed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Nigeria praised China’s achievements over the decades, describing the country’s journey of nation-building, resilience, and innovation as “an inspiration to the global community.”
“Nigeria values its close relations with China, anchored on mutual trust, shared aspirations, and a strong record of cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres,” Tuggar said.
Ambassador Tuggar emphasised that Nigeria remained committed to strengthening its strategic partnership with China, particularly in areas such as trade, infrastructure development, investment, education, and technology. He noted that the partnership also thrives within multilateral frameworks, including the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The Minister further acknowledged China’s role in promoting peace, multilateral dialogue, and global development, stressing Nigeria’s readiness to pursue new areas of collaboration.
“We therefore reaffirm the readiness to deepen bilateral relations with China, explore new areas of partnership, and promote greater people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of both nations, while wishing the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China peace, prosperity, and Nigeria’s continuing friendship and support,” he added.
