A former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has recounted the tragic deaths of two of his close friends following a fatal car crash in an emotional conversation with UFC star, Kamaru Usman.
The conversation, shared in a YouTube video posted by Usman on Wednesday, took place while Joshua was recovering from injuries sustained in the accident and ahead of an MMA event held in Lagos on December 30.
Joshua survived a crash on December 29 along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed the lives of his friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
The boxer was pulled from the wreckage and rushed to Duchess International Hospital, where he received medical treatment.
Footage from the video showed Joshua lying in a treatment room with bandages wrapped around his head and torso, as he spoke to Usman about the tragedy. He admitted that the reality of the loss had not yet fully registered.
Following his discharge from the hospital, Joshua has since returned to the United Kingdom.
During the conversation, Usman, a former UFC welterweight champion, asked whether Ghami and Ayodele had been seated in the front of the black Lexus at the time of the crash.
Joshua replied, “One was in the front and one was behind him, on the right side. They both passed away. It still hasn’t sunk in. It still hasn’t hit me yet.”
“I’m sorry for that, man. You scared the world, I’ll tell you that right now,” Usman responded.
“Life is short, man. Life is short. And now look, I get to speak with you for the first time,” Joshua said.
“I know. It’s a funny way of how things move, you know? We thank God,” Usman replied.
“You scared the world. It’s crazy because, obviously, we deal with the haters and all the bull**** every time, and it sucks that it takes something serious like this to really see how many people have their eyes on you,” Usman added.
PUNCH Online reported on Sunday that Joshua broke his silence with a post across his social media platforms, sharing a photograph of himself with the families of the deceased.
He captioned the image, “My Brother’s Keeper.”
The photograph shows the former heavyweight champion standing in solidarity with the bereaved families, offering visible support during a moment of grief.

“School Might Truly Be A Scam” After-All – Jim Iyke
Veteran Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has sparked conversation after arguing that financial success is not always learned in classrooms, insisting that many of life’s greatest wealth lessons came from experienced traders and mentors rather than professors.
Speaking on Joey Akan’s podcast, Jim questioned whether many lecturers truly outperform the students they teach when it comes to succeeding in the real world.
“Can we even argue about the people that are our tutors, our professors? How many of them are really doing well in life? Haven’t you exceeded every tutor that ever sat in the classroom to tell you the dynamics of how to survive in the economic world?” he asked.
Recalling a recent encounter with one of his former professors, the actor said, “I met my professor recently, God bless his soul. We all knew who was doing better when we sat on that plane. I had to look back to greet him; he had to look forward to greet me. Somebody sat in business class, but that’s not the point.”
According to Jim, blindly following everything he learned in school would not have brought him the success he enjoys today.
“I’ll tell you what worked, it’s what the uncles spoke to me, the traders that barely went to school but amassed untold wealth. The father that sat in front of me and told me, ‘Forget all that book. This is a time to be ruthless, this is a time to conform, this is a time to stoop to conquer.’”
He further argued that many of the world’s richest people did not build their fortunes through academic qualifications alone, adding, “Some of the wealthiest men in the world did not get it from classrooms. How many of them have PhDs? I have a PhD that works for me.”

It Took 18 Years For Me To Have My Twins – Veteran Actor Ricardo Agbor
Veteran Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has shared the emotional story of his 18-year wait to become a father, revealing that he and his wife were blessed with twins after nearly two decades of marriage.
Speaking in an interview with AfricanAList, Agbor said he remained committed to his wife throughout the difficult period despite societal expectations.
“I wanted to get married to a particular lady; I married her regardless of where she is from. She is not from my tribe. So ordinarily, we were supposed to have strife; no, it was very fair.”
Recalling their journey to parenthood, the actor said he never stopped believing and specifically asked God to bless them with twins.
“It took 18 years for me to have the twins. And I waited. God knows, 18 years and they are 14 now, so I told God I wanted twins.”
“So while that wait was on, if it were someone else, he would cross. But at the end of the day, I have twins. I have a boy and a girl. I asked God what I wanted.”
Agbor also described losing his mother as the most heartbreaking experience of his life.
He said after weeks of treatment without improvement, doctors advised that she be flown to South Africa, but she asked to be moved to another hospital in Surulere instead.
“My mom died right in my arms… It was my mom that told me to take her away from that place. As I was carrying her into the car, she gave up.”
The actor said the tragedy left him shattered. “I think that was the first time I cried in my life. I don’t cry. If I cry, maybe it is in a movie and it is a role. So I cried. It was painful.”
