Vacate Venezuela immediately – State Department Tells U.S. Citizens

The U.S. Department of State has issued an urgent Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory, ordering all American citizens currently in Venezuela to leave the country “immediately” due to a rapidly deteriorating security situation.

The warning, released alongside a suspension of all remaining consular services, cites the “high risk of wrongful detention, terrorism, and kidnapping” as tensions between Washington and Caracas reach a breaking point.

This directive follows the dramatic escalation earlier this month, when U.S. military forces executed a targeted operation to capture former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who is now facing federal charges in New York. In the wake of this power vacuum, the country has been plunged into uncertainty, with reports of “intermittent power outages” and heightened military activity in the region.

President Trump’s administration has maintained a hardline stance, revoking Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans in the U.S. and designating the “Tren de Aragua” gang as a foreign terrorist organization. Officials warn that the U.S. government has “no ability” to assist citizens who choose to remain, urging them to depart via commercial means while flight options are still available.
