FCTA Confirms Antivenom Available in All Hospitals After Singer’s Death

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has assured residents that antivenom is fully stocked and available in all public hospitals and health centres following the death of singer, Ifunanya Nwangene. The FCTA emphasized that life-saving treatment for snakebites is accessible across the territory.

The administration clarified that different types of antivenoms are stored centrally and carefully managed to ensure quality and effectiveness. Hospitals are prepared to treat snakebite victims, and emergency response systems have been strengthened with new ambulances and improved road access.

The FCTA warned that snakebites remain a serious but preventable public health threat, urging residents to take safety precautions in homes and outdoor areas. Immediate medical attention is critical, as antivenom is most effective when administered early.

All public and private healthcare facilities are required to follow approved clinical protocols. The FCTA will monitor compliance closely and sanction hospitals that fail to provide proper emergency care. Residents are encouraged to use official ambulance numbers for emergencies.
