Again, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has uncovered what transpired at the Hilltop, Minna, home of former military president Ibrahim Babangida in closed door session with Atiku Abubakar and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

“It is no longer news that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, went to Minna, Niger State, yesterday to hold a meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Here is what happened behind the curtains.
“Venue and personalities involved in the meeting was carefully chosen so as to ensure confidence and acceptability.
“Consideration was given to the fact that Peter Obi will not accept to be Atiku’s running mate and he won’t also be acceptable to the North, as Atiku’s successor.
“Also, Atiku is 70% certain of getting the ADC ticket, having ensured the non-zoning of the party’s presidential ticket.
“Makinde agreed to join ADC on the condition that he will be handed the party’s Vice Presidential ticket, as Atiku’s running mate. This is expected to be presented to Atiku’s inner caucus for further discussions and ratification.
“Makinde offered to make available a sum of N10bn (to be released in two tranches), as his initial contribution towards what he called “proper take-off of the ADC,” and make additional funds available when campaign begins.
“The Governor also assured that for the ADC primary, he will deliver the Southwest delegates and use the influence of wife, who is from Rivers State to secure delegate votes in the South-South.
“He posited that for the general election, using him to divide the Southwest votes will give the ADC the needed advantage.
“Follow up meeting has been fixed for Dubai, UAE within the next two weeks.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has ordered the FCT Department of Development Control to demolish a shanties, an illegal settlement close to Karmajiji in Kukwaba District, Abuja.

Wike gave the order when he led security operatives to the settlement, a suspected criminal hideout, after the FCT Security Committee Meeting on Friday.

Screenshot He directed the Commissioner of Police in FCT, Ahmed Sanusi, to work with the Director of Development Control to demolish the settlement.
The minister stressed that anyone found using such locations to aid criminal activities would face the full weight of the law.
According to the minister, the demolition is part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Administration to dismantle criminal enclaves, improve public safety and protect residents.
Wike reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to sustaining security operations across the territory, noting that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority.
He added that intelligence reports indicated that suspected criminals often retreated to the settlement after carrying out attacks in parts of the FCT.
“This is a time bomb. There’s no way we can allow this. The FCT Administration will not allow criminal hideouts to thrive in Abuja.
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike on Friday, led security personnel to a criminal hideout in a shanty located in Kukwaba District, near the City Gate, Abuja, immediately after a security meeting, directing that the settlement be demolished to improve security in the nation’s capital.
Wike said criminals often retreated to the community after carrying out attacks, insisting he would not allow such a hideout to continue to exist in Abuja.

Two sons of the South-East Zonal Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Haruna Sale, have been killed after gunmen attacked a cattle settlement in Oheoyya Community, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The attackers also reportedly slaughtered about 40 cattle belonging to members of the association during the incident.
The attack was said to have happened at about 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, when armed men invaded the settlement and opened fire on the residents.
The victims were identified as Ahmadu and Umaru, who were both sons of the MACBAN zonal chairman.
In a statement issued by the association’s National Deputy Director-General, Gidado Siddiki, MACBAN said the attackers carried out the assault before killing dozens of cattle kept at the settlement.
The group described the incident as a painful attack on citizens involved in lawful livestock business.
The association said security personnel later found the bodies of the two victims in a nearby forest.
Their remains were recovered and handed over to their families, who buried them according to Islamic rites.
MACBAN thanked the Enugu State Government and security agencies for responding after the attack and assisting in recovering the bodies.
However, it called for a full investigation into the incident and urged authorities to arrest and prosecute those responsible.
The association also stated that its members across the South-East are engaged in legal cattle breeding, rearing and trading activities and deserve the same protection as every other Nigerian.
It appealed to residents of Enugu State to continue supporting peaceful relations between herders and host communities, saying cooperation remains necessary for peace and economic activities.
MACBAN also restated its commitment to obeying the law and working with governments, host communities and security agencies to promote peace, improve security and strengthen unity across the country.
