Pastor Foluke Adeboye, wife of renowned cleric Enoch Adeboye, has revealed personal sacrifice she made following her conversion to Christianity.
She disclosed that before becoming born again, she had invested heavily in expensive gold jewelry, even purchasing some for her daughter who was not yet two years old at the time.
According to Pastor Foluke, she gathered all her jewelry and disposed of them in a lagoon, rather than keeping or selling them.
“Every woman loves fashion,” she said. “But by the time we became born again, it became something we were not expected to wear.”
She recounted how a family friend questioned her decision, suggesting she could have given the valuables to her mother to sell instead. But she declined, insisting that anything she had chosen to give up should not be passed on to someone else.
Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother,” she explained.
No regrets despite sacrifice
The cleric also revealed that she briefly turned to wearing copper accessories as an alternative, admitting she spent significant money on them at the time.
