Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed the circumstances surrounding her alleged ban from the Nigerian film industry years ago, alongside several colleagues.
The actress explained that she, along with Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke, Stella Damasus, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Nkem Owoh, was sidelined by marketers after advocating for improved standards within the industry.
She made this known during a recent interview while promoting her new film,Mother’s Love, noting that their push for better structure and professionalism was met with resistance at the time.
“They said we were too troublesome because we were trying to better the industry. They said we were bad influences because we were pushing for standards,” she said.
Omotola added that although a reconciliation meeting was later arranged, she declined to attend.
“They called for a reconciliation meeting, and I refused to go,” she said.
Speaking further, the actress addressed her relationship with Genevieve Nnaji, clarifying that while they maintain a cordial relationship, they are not particularly close.
“People don’t need to be best friends, but we talk,” she said.

Actress Regina Daniels revealed that she has emotionally stepped away from marriage but still hopes to have a daughter.
Speaking during a livestream with TikTok personality Jarvis, Daniels reflected on motherhood and relationships.

Daniels said having a female child brings a different and more profound understanding of being a mother.
“The last time I saw my children was last year. I know one day, I’ll see them again, very soon. But for some reason I have checked my mind out of getting married but I’m yet to have a girl and I must have a girl child. I feel like you’d understand motherhood better when you have a girl child”, she said.
In October last year, she parted ways with her husband, Ned Nwoko, following a public disagreement.
