Journalists and members of the public were on Tuesday barred from entering the courtroom as former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna for his alleged money laundering trial.
The restriction limited media coverage of the proceedings, though no official reason was given for the decision to deny journalists access.
El-Rufai was escorted into the courtroom by security operatives upon his arrival at the court premises in a Hilux vehicle.
In a video posted on social media, the former governor was dressed in a green babanriga with a black cap.
He appeared calm as he smiled and waved at supporters gathered outside the courtroom.
