Former member of House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party PDP Board of Trustees, BoT member, Hon TeeJay Yusuf has lamented over how politicians have turned sensitive security matters into a political game.
Yusuf who represented Kabba/unu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly. 2011-2023 in a statement on Monday took a swipe at the manner the alleged Jilli airstrike, was turned into a political jamboree.
In the statement, Yusuf said:”It’s honestly disturbing how we’ve turned insecurity in Nigeria into a political game. 
“Take the recent Air Force airstrike in Borno for example. A known terrorist enclave was targeted, yet the dominant narrative on social media quickly shifted to claims that a market was hit—despite reports that the location had long been abandoned and taken over by insurgents.
“Yes, accountability matters. Yes, every civilian life is important. But pushing unverified or misleading information just to score political points only fuels confusion and weakens public trust.
“We can’t claim to want security and stability while constantly discrediting efforts on the ground without facts.
“Nigeria deserves better—more honesty, more responsibility, and less propaganda. Let’s do better as citizens.
