Nigerian afro-house singer, Niniola Apata, has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated artiste shared the heartbreaking news in a series of emotional posts on her Instagram account early Wednesday.
Ndika was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
In one of the posts, Niniola wrote, “God took him.” In another, she added, “My husband died.”
In a third post, the singer expressed her grief, writing, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”
The circumstances surrounding Ndika’s death were not immediately disclosed. Niniola has largely kept her private life away from the public eye and social media.
Niniola, 39, rose to prominence after emerging as the runner-up on the 2013 edition of Project Fame West Africa.
She gained international recognition with her 2017 hit single Maradona, which earned praise from global stars including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland and Beyoncé.

Chiké: Why I Can Never Sleep With A Married Woman – Verydarkman
Social media commentator Verydarkman has shared his thoughts on the ongoing online discussions involving singer Chike and Sandra Edoho, the ex-wife of media personality Frank Edoho.
In a video circulating online, Verydarkman spoke about the temptations that can come with fame and popularity, noting that celebrities often attract attention from different kinds of people.
He stated that he personally avoids getting involved with married women because of the complications and consequences such relationships can bring.
The commentator added that while he would not criticize ordinary conversations between adults, he believes people should exercise self-control and avoid situations that could lead to controversy or damage relationships.
He said …
“Popularity attracts different people to you, both single and married, women and even men will make advances at you. But the one wey me I know I don tell myself no matter what I will never carry myself go Comot married woman cloth. Wetin I wan talk say I dey find. The curse wey follow that thing too big.
But then again, Shay na everybody get control? I will not fault Chiké for talking with the woman, but I will fault him for sl££p!ng with the woman because na me know the temptation wey dey inside this popularity life.
If say Chiké get control, e go know say this place wey I wan go no good….”
