In a congratulatory message issued after the governorship election, the traditional ruler said Adeleke’s victory represented what he described as the “divine will of Olodumare” expressed through the ballots cast by the people of Osun State.

Oba Akanbi said the governor deserved commendation for successfully mobilising a dedicated group of young people who worked to canvass support and persuade voters to renew his mandate.

“The re-election victory of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, reflects a divine will of Olodumare (God) expressed by voters through the ballots,” the monarch said.

He urged Adeleke to sustain the momentum of youth participation in governance and continue to create opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

The Oluwo also called on the governor to strengthen his relationship with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that closer cooperation between the state and federal authorities would be beneficial to Osun.

According to him, Osun State requires strong collaboration with the Federal Government to attract more infrastructure and development projects across its cities, towns and rural communities.

“I have strong hope that aligning with the Federal Government will accelerate and attract more dividends to Osun State and her people,” he said.

Oba Akanbi further advised the governor to deepen his engagement with residents at the grassroots, stressing that such interaction should not be limited to election periods.

He urged Adeleke to visit the various local government areas regularly and organise periodic stakeholder meetings or Apero to enable the government to hear directly from the people and better understand their concerns.

The traditional ruler also appealed to the governor to be magnanimous in victory, reminding him that his responsibility extends to every resident of Osun State irrespective of political affiliation.

“While felicitating with you, I urge you to be magnanimous in victory. You are the governor of all in the state,” Oba Akanbi said.

He prayed for the governor’s continued good health and wisdom to successfully administer the state.

“Olodumare will bless you with sound health and divine wisdom to constructively manage the state,” the monarch added.

The Oluwo concluded his message by once again congratulating Governor Adeleke on his electoral victory.
