The All_Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has called on Nigerian voters to completely reject the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the upcoming general elections, citing a severe failure to clear internal workers’ salaries.
In a sharply worded press statement issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, the spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Alake, revealed that the National Working Committee of the ADC has refused to pay its party staff and cleaners for over a year.
The APC described the non-payment of workers as “unconscionable,” “wicked,” and “reprehensible,” arguing that an organization unable to manage its own internal welfare cannot be trusted with the governance of the nation.
“A party that can not pay its cleaners and workforce can not be entrusted with our country’s affairs,” Alake stated.
“With this development, Nigerians can now see the emptiness and insincerity of those parading themselves as ‘new saviours’.”The ruling party’s campaign council further took aim at the top leadership of the ADC, drawing connections to past administrative track records.
The statement accused the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of habitually owing employees at his private business ventures—specifically Gotel Communication—while regularly travelling abroad to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Additionally, the APC criticized the record of ADC General Secretary and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The statement alleged that during his eight years in office, Aregbesola mismanaged state funds, subjected civil servants to fractional “quarter and half-salary” payments, and abandoned pensioners for more than four years.
Warning working-class citizens against what it termed “birds of a feather,” the APC council maintained that the desperation of the opposition leaders is driven by personal aggrandizement rather than national interest. The council urged the electorate to firmly reject all ADC candidates at the polls.
