The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has called for applications for the 2027 award of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
It set a non-refundable processing fee of N5 million for lawyers in private practice and N2.5 million for those in government service.
In a public notice issued by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Eniola Akanbi, the committee said the portal will open at 12am on November 1 and close at midnight on January 31, 2027.
The fee structure marks a distinct update from previous years.
Over the last three to five years, covering the 2023 through 2025 application cycles, the LPPC maintained a flat, non-refundable processing fee of N1 million.
The 2026 cycle then introduced a split-fee model, setting the fee at N5million for private practitioners and N2.5million for public officers.
All applicants, whether advocates or academics, must upload clear, legible supporting documents as specified in the 2022 Guidelines.
Academic applicants must also submit seven copies of their Curriculum Vitae and Impact Statement.
Applicants must submit five flash drives containing their completed application form and uploaded documents to the LPPC Secretariat before 4pm on February 1, 2027.
