Nollywood celebrity and entertainer Yvonne Jegede has said that her marriage ended because she was the breadwinner.

Jegede stated this during conversation with popular OAP Nedu Wazobia on his podcast.

Jegede addressed a variety of factors that contributed to her breakup with Olakunle Fawole, providing a candid and uncensored look into their turbulent relationship.

She revealed that her ex-husband was eight years older, and from the start of their marriage, he felt insulted by her candid words.

Citing one example, she stated that anytime she called him “crazy” during their chats, he saw it as disrespect, despite the fact that they had been together for a long time before marrying. Jegede was caught aback by his reactions, assuming he had been accustomed to her candor by then.

When Nedu asked if perceived disrespect was the major cause for their divorce, Jegede emphatically responded no. She claimed that, while it had a part, it was only one of several causes that contributed to their marriage breakup. There were various underlying concerns at play.

Yvonne Jegede revealed that their relationship’s financial mismatch was a major factor. She stated that she was the primary earner and bears the most of the financial load.

She added that this disparity affected their marriage, as she felt pressured to provide for their family nearly exclusively on her own.
