Davido Drags Sophia To Court Over His First Daughter’s Custody
David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dragged Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade, to court, seeking custody of the daughter.
In an originating motion filed by his lawyers, Dr Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah and others, at the Lagos State High Court, dated April 17, 2024, Davido is praying the court for “an order granting joint custody of Miss Imade Adeleke to the applicant.”
In the alternative, the singer prayed to the court for “an order granting to the applicant unfettered and unrestricted access to Miss Imade.”
The suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, has as applicant Mr David Adedeji Adeleke, while Ms Sophia Momodu was listed as the sole respondent.
The originating motion was supported by a 44-paragraph affidavit deposed to by Davido himself.
He narrated that though he had a relationship with Momodu that led to the birth of their child on May 14, 2015, the relationship had ended some years ago “while we resolved to take care of our child as biological father and mother”
Davido said, “That it is on record that I have been responsible for the payment of all the school fees of my daughter to provide her with the best education possible and to meet all her educational needs without a hitch.
“That I have also been providing money for the rent of the apartment where the respondent resides with our daughter.”
The singer said that as a result of the love he had for Imade, he purchased and offered the mother a N200m worth apartment in a condominium gated community with a swimming pool and 24-hour power and water supply at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos. An offer he claimed was turned down.
He said, “The respondent rejected the offer to stay and live at the above-described secured Oniru apartment, which had been purchased already, but demanded that I continue to pay N5,000,000 annually for a rented facility as my own contribution towards my daughter’s accommodation.”
Davido said to ensure that the interest of Imade was well-catered for, “I bought a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle for the use of the child and the respondent to meet the transport needs, including transportation of the child to and from school, etc.”
He added that sometime last year, he received a call from her daughter’s school that Imade had been absent for two weeks, and upon his inquiry from Momodu, “She began to make excuses and complained that the Range Rover SUV was not in a good condition, however, she refused to inform me about that.”
He added, “That sequel to the information about the said condition of the vehicle, I provided another vehicle, Highlander SUV, and in addition, the sum of N5.8m as requested by her for the repair of the Range Rover SUV, making it two vehicles in the custody and use of the respondent and our daughter.”
According to Davido, to further ensure that the interest of their child was adequately taken care of, “I also made commitments to pay for living expenses, the fees of the nanny to our child, provide medical and health care, insurance, periodic international travel expenses and tickets.”
“That notwithstanding my efforts in the overall interest of my daughter, the respondent has continued to make outlandish and Utopian demands to frustrate me,” the singer added.
Listing the other demands allegedly made by Momodu, he said, “The respondent, among others, is demanding that I should pay the nanny she hired the sum of $800 per month, and that the total sum of $19,600 per annum be paid as a lump sum.”
Davido claimed that despite his contribution towards ensuring a better life for their daughter, “the respondent has continued to show me unwarranted cruelty, inflicting so much pain on me.”
Davido and Sophia have often been at loggerheads.
In 2021, Sophia revealed that she was pained when their daughter, Imade, took Davido’s last name and not hers.
Momodu revealed this via her Instagram Story when she reacted to a post about children bearing their mothers’ names.
According to her, she cried bitterly because her daughter could not bear her last name ‘Momodu’.
She wrote, “I remember my mom and aunties laughing at me when I was crying because my daughter’s last name wasn’t going to be Momodu.
“I was genuinely distraught. I was even arguing and everything, that they put her father’s full name and not a single letter from mine.”
She further revealed that her mother made her understand that Imade should bear her father’s name so that she could gain from her father’s lineage and inheritance.
She added, “It made me shut up real quick, but I lowkey had so many questions.”

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable has clashed with a man at a shopping mall in Canada who insisted that the singer must visit and promote his business.
In a viral video, the “Zazuu” crooner was seen having a verbal exchange with a fellow Nigerian.
Portable later explained that the said man wanted him to visit his restaurant and help promote, which he refused since he didn’t pay him.
The said man got confrontational and began trying to stir up drama and both started hurling insults at each other while others tried to mediate the issue.
Portable and his managers subsequently reported the matter to security who noted they captured everything on camera.
He said: ” Before we entered the mall, I exited the car, I was walking towards the door and this organizer of the Regina show drove right in front of me and if I didn’t step back he would have hit me all because I didn’t want to go to his restaurant to promote his own personal business and he didn’t pay me for any of that.
”I didn’t say anything to him. I just wanted to buy some clothes and relax before the show. After we entered the mall, I went on my own shopping with my @djchelsea.official and the organizer for the Regina show came up to me and said I have to take pictures with every fan that comes up to me.

“The security officer saw everything and they know I did not start the fight and I didn’t hit anyone. The other security officers saw the security cameras and they told me to press charges. The police is dealing with this matter.”

What Pasuma’s Daughter Says About Her Dad, What She Does For A Living
One of the daughters of Fuji Star, Alabi Pasuma, Rokeebat Omobolaji Odetola is one of the wave-making music promoters in the music industry.
She is one of the daughters of Fuji star, Alabi Pasuma. But many didn’t know that. She also does not tell them, unless you ask.
In a chat with City People Publisher, SEYE KEHINDE at Imole residence of her father in Lagos, she said,
“Being Pasuma’s daughter stops outside the gate of my house here. When I leave my house and I go out, nobody knows me. I can say maybe when I worked with Danny S, that was when they started saying you don’t know my Manager, she is Pasuma’s daughter.
I tell those artistes that they should please leave aside my being Pasuma’s daughter, lets work, forget my background. Why I usually tell them to forget my background is because my father is not in support of it. I had to like force and beg him to allow me do what I do. So, I am not always proud to say it.
I don’t know who is very close to him that I will meet and he will pick up the phone to call him to say Paso your daughter is here, blabbing outside. She is in a club. So, I do go to shows on a lowkey level. I am not loud.
When I first started I decided he must not know, then. So, I was always not proud to say I am so, so, so, so daughter until when the glory started to show up and he started calling me CEO.
He will call me Rawkey White, the CEO. Rawkey White Entertainment endorsed by your daddy. That is how people now started to know that I am Pasuma’s daughter.
Till now, most people are still doubting whether I am Pasuma’s daughter or not based on the way I relate with them on the public. His name is aside. My name is aside.
I never thought of using his name to climb up. Right from time, I am always around his boys. I can say maybe I am the only child that relates with all of his boys. You met me outside with them gisting.
Right from childhood, I had the feeling, I had the plans that when I grow up, I want to have this kind of house (points to his dad’s house in Omole) and put my people there like my dad did here, and I want to be the boss. That is my own aim. So when I started working, I had my own office, I also had my people.
I have people who work for me. I thank God. So, the name is just different. I started it not to prove him wrong. I started it because I want to do it. All I want to do is to just manage artistes, not to sing. I started as part of the artiste’s entourage. I just follow artistes without any position, as part of the crew.
What I do is when I leave my gate, I leave my name inside my room. When I go outside, I want to know what’s up. I go to see DJs, go to shows, meet up with artistes and life goes on. I am happy I have been able to stabilise my business.
I have a car. I have a P.A. I have an official Photographer. I have a crew. I have a driver. I have my blogger.
Basically I have people that work for me. But I am not in that boss level yet. I am still training them. So, I do the main job myself, they also handle artistes on my behalf.”
