48hours to d-day, youths in Niger State have trooped to the streets to protest the ongoing cost of living crisis in Nigeria, despite the effort of the Federal and State governments to stop the protest, saying hoodlums and enemies of democracy could hijack it.

Naijablitznews reports that despite the efforts of the Federal and State governments to stop the protest, saying hoodlums and enemies of democracy could hijack it, the youths trooped to the streets to protest the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The protesters were seen on the streets chanting anti-government songs and holding placards such as ‘Enough is Enough’; ‘Stop Anti-Masses Policies’; ‘We Are Not Slaves In Our Country’; ‘Hardship Is Unbearable’, ‘Fuel Subsidy Must Be Back’, among others.

According to Daily Trust, some of the protesters on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway declined to speak with journalists who approached them.

Gov Kefas appoints Senator Manu chairman committee for Mobilisation of Devt and Investment

Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas has appointed a seasoned administrator, Senator Manu Haruna as Chairman Committee for Mobilisation of Development and Investment.

This was contained in a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps on Saturday.

Senator Manu who represents Taraba Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly was a two term deputy governor of Taraba and currently he is the deputy chairman Senate committee on Local and Foreign Debts.

He is also the deputy chairman Senate committee on Public Procurement and was one time deputy chairman HoR committee on Banking and Currency in the 8th Assembly.

He’s expected to showcase his vast experience in driving the committee to greater heights of excellence.

Recall that last Friday, Governor Kefas had convened critical stakeholders in Abuja where a memorandum of understanding was signed with Chinese engineering and construction giant CCECC.

Nigerian born Badenoch emerges leader of UK’s Conservative Party

Ex-UK secretary of state for international trade Kemi Badenoch on Saturday emerged as the leader of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom.

Kemi Badenoch, 44, representing North West Essex in the British parliament, contested for the Conservative Party’s leadership on Thursday, October 31.

Badenoch, at the close of voting, in a statement, thanked supporters of her “Renewal2030” campaign promise of returning the party to 10 Downing Street, after a historic loss for Keir Starmer’s Labor Party.

Polls have closed for the Conservative Party leadership contest. I want to thank all our party members who have taken the time to listen to pitches from all of the candidates, turned up to our Hastings and hosted us in your associations and in your homes.
