Alia’s Priesthood anniversary: Tor Tiv warns Benue politicians
Worried by the persistent pull him down antics by the political gladiators against those occupying positions of authority, the paramount ruler of the Tiv people, (Begha- U -Tiv,) His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, has warned politicians in the state to steer clear of the traditional institution in their satanic activities.
The monarch, who sounded the warning today at the IBB square, Makurdi, while speaking at 34th priestly ordination anniversary celebration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, said traditional rulers were tired of the divisions and skirmishes of politicians aimed at destroying others for their selfish interests.
The Tor Tiv, who said that God choses one person at a particular time for a particular purpose, noted that everyone has his own style and people to work with to achieve his set goals.
He advised that politics is now over and the people should rather team up with the Governor so that development of the state is given it’s rightful place.
On behalf of the Benue State Traditional Council of Chiefs, he assured the governor of their cooperation to succeed.
In his speech, the celebrant, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, described his emergence as governor in the 2023 polls as a vessel of God’s grace to Benue people.
The Governor announced the dedication of all financial and other gifts for him by people of goodwill on his anniversary celebration to the Mama Abaiyol Orphanage Home, High-level, Makurdi.
He therefore directed that financial gifts be channeled to Polaris Bank account number 4030008187, which is the account of the orphanage.
