Liverpool eyes Super Eagles winger as Sallah’s replacement

Premier League leaders Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Nigerian international Ademola Lookman as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah, who has been in excellent form for the Reds this season, is inching closer to the final months of his contract at Anfield.
The Egyptian international has registered 13 goals in 14 Premier League appearances for Arne Slot’s side.
The former Roma winger, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has disclosed that he is uncertain about his future at the club.
“I’m more out than in,” Salah said after scoring in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Southampton in the Premier League.
In the event Salah leaves, the Reds have identified Lookman to fill his shoes on the flanks, as per Italian publication Gazzetta.
Lookman has been in remarkable form since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 for a fee around €9.35 million, including bonuses.
The Super Eagles star shone for Atalanta in the Europa League final after scoring a historic hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen to guide the Serie A outfit to their first-ever European title.
His remarkable form has not gone unnoticed, as he has drawn interest from several top clubs in Europe, including Juventus, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
According to Fichajes, Atalanta has placed an asking price of between €65 million and €75 million on Lookman to deter potential suitors in January.
