Kanye West and Bianca Censori have reportedly split, just days after the rapper’s vile rants caused a storm on social media.

The couple are said to have verbally agreed the Australian architect, 30, will get a $5m payment after their marriage broke down, the Mirror reports. They tied the knot at the end of 2022 just weeks after the musician had completed his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

However, a source had claimed the pair have new gone their separate ways. They also said a legal filing is expected in the next few days.

It’s thought Bianca is staying at their pair’s $35 million house in Beverly Park North, Los Angeles for the time being. According to Mail Online, the location of the rapper, who is legally known is Ye, is yet to be confirmed, but some are said to think he might head back to Tokyo, Japan, where he spent a large portion of last year staying in a hotel.

The apparent split comes just days after the couple shocked the world with Bianca’s revealing outfit at the Grammys. While they have continuously pushed the boundaries with their risqué outfits, the most revealing yet came at the awards ceremony earlier in the month.

As Bianca dropped her fur coat on the red carpet, her see-through dress left little to the imagination. The outrage led to people calling for jail time before the rapper proudly commented that the pair had “beat the Grammys” due to the intense publicity the daring look brought.

Before their relationship crumbled, the model’s friends and family reportedly tried to intervene after watching her become Kanye’s ‘puppet’. And after going viral, the couple’s controversial Grammys stunt raised further red flags with psychologists – and they revealed Bianca’s heartbreaking signal that may have been a sign of things to come.

At the 67th Grammy Awards, the model bared all for the cameras in a completely transparent slip dress, sparking furious backlash and even risking being arrested. Meanwhile, father-of-four Kanye was dressed head-to-toe in black by her side – a common contrast for the couple.

While Ye was completely covered, Bianca wore next to nothing with him in public, often sporting a vacant or uncomfortable facial expression. It’s even been claimed previously that the Yeezy designer controls what Bianca wears, eats and when she works out, and has a series of strict rules for his second wife to live by.

Chartered psychologist Dr Louise Goddard-Crawley told the Mirror that Bianca’s choice of extreme clothing may signal an unhealthy dynamic in the relationship. She warned: “Bianca Censori’s increasingly revealing outfits have sparked debate, with many questioning whether this is an act of self-expression or something more complex. Reports of Kanye West allegedly imposing ‘rules’ on her, alongside concerns from family and friends, raise the possibility that this is more than just a bold fashion choice.”

She continued: “In relationships where one partner holds significant influence-whether through status, wealth, or sheer personality-the other can find themselves adapting, sometimes unconsciously, to maintain approval.” The psychologist explained how there are a few psychological factors that could be at play, including Kayne’s possible control over Bianca.

“If Kanye does have a strong say in how Bianca presents herself, dressing in an extreme way might not be a personal choice but a way to maintain his approval or avoid conflict. It’s common in controlling relationships for one person’s preferences to dictate the other’s behaviour, sometimes to the point where their identity changes,” Dr Goddard-Crawley said.

“Bianca, previously a relatively private architect, is now in a world where controversy equals currency. Hypersexualisation is a fast track to attention, and given how spectacle-driven Kanye’s career has been, it’s possible she is embracing this as part of a new identity.” She suggested that Bianca could subconsciously feel pressured to become Kanye’s next project.

“Kanye has a history of styling and reshaping his partners, with Kim Kardashian famously recalling how he revamped her entire wardrobe. If Bianca sees herself as his latest muse, she may feel pressure – conscious or not – to embody his artistic vision, even if it’s at odds with her past self,” the psychologist said.

However, she also said that there is always the possibility that this was entirely Bianca’s choice. “Some individuals see hypersexualisation as empowerment, a way of rejecting societal norms. The question is whether she would be making the same choices if Kanye weren’t in the picture,” Dr Goddard-Crawley explained.

Dr Goddard-Crawley said red flags in their relationship include reports of Bianca distancing herself from loved ones, which “can be a sign of an unhealthy dynamic”. Her undergoing a drastic shift in self-presentation also “raises questions about autonomy versus influence”, she said. She added that Kanye’s history of influence over his partners’ appearances and behaviours also suggests a “broader pattern rather than an isolated case”.

The psychologist added: “Bianca’s extreme outfits could be her own choice, a performance for attention, or part of a controlling dynamic. The real question is whether she feels free in these choices – or whether they are shaped by a need to maintain Kanye’s approval. Whether this is self-expression, a strategic move, or something more unsettling, only Bianca truly knows.”

Relationship coach Francine Kaye, author of The Divorce Doctor, also raised concerns about Bianca’s autonomy and ability to make personal choices. She told the Mirror that the Australian model displayed detached body language at the Grammys, which raises serious concerns about the real reason behind her look, and Kanye’s involvement.

Francine said: “It’s plausible that Censori’s attire at the Grammys was a mix of personal expression and West’s flair for publicity – something they both undeniably achieved. However, what struck me most was how apprehensive and almost detached she appeared during the photography session as if she were physically present but emotionally elsewhere. This raises concerns about her personal comfort and true autonomy in making such a bold ‘fashion’ choice.”

The behavioural expert went on: “West has faced past allegations of misogynistic attitudes, which adds another layer of discomfort. Was this an empowered statement of self-expression, or was there an element of external pressure?”

Francine said there is a “fine line between incredibly brave and incredibly reckless”. She added: “In the end, whether people view it as artistic, exploitative, or simply attention-seeking, everyone is talking about them. And ultimately, that may have been the goal all along.”

Bianca, who is 18 years younger, married Kayne in December 2022, just two months after his divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalised. It came after he released his song, Censori Overload, where he hinted at the reason behind their marriage, as he rapped: “And The Bible said I can’t have any more sex till marriage.”

Since their romance sparked, the pair have become known for their racy public displays, with Bianca shocking fans with her incredibly risqué clothing choices, like sheer dresses, ultra-mini skirts and the ‘world’s smallest bikini’. But CCTV footage of Bianca alone last year showed her wearing completely different attire, a baggy tracksuit, without her husband around.

Bianca’s worried loved ones reportedly staged an intervention in November 2023 and urged her to “wake the f**k up”. A source told the Mail at the time: “She knows that she has shut out those close to her, and she is also starting to see through the smoky mirrors of her marriage.” Her father Leo was reportedly keen to confront Ye about Bianca’s lack of clothing.

Last year, the couple reportedly split following concerns from Bianca’s friends and family about the way she was dressing in public. The Yeezy designer’s mother, Alexandra, flew from Australia to the US with the intention of ‘saving’ her daughter in March 2023, but Bianca told her family that she had everything ‘under control’, a source told the Mail.

Organisers of The Headies have refuted allegations that gospel and inspirational musicians are excluded from the award’s major categories.

In a statement released on Monday via its official Instagram page, the organisers said the claim does not reflect the award’s history.

They cited previous winners such as Lara George, Kefee, Nikki Laoye and Timi Dakolo as gospel artistes who have won mainstream honours at The Headies.

The statement also noted that the Inspirational Single category was created to recognise songs that promote faith, hope and positive values.

The clarification followed an open letter from Afrogospel artiste Gaise Baba, who raised concerns about the treatment of gospel music at the awards.

Gaise Baba argued that songs should be judged on quality, sound and impact, rather than the message in the lyrics.

“A rap record is a rap record,” he wrote in part.

The singer further questioned whether commercially successful gospel songs like ‘Favour’ and his collaboration with Lawrence Oyor, ‘No Turning Back II’, receive the same consideration as mainstream Nigerian songs.

Gaise Baba also recalled his experience as a nominee, stating that the Inspirational Music category was not presented during the main ceremony at one edition.

He said nominees commit time and resources to the process and deserve proper recognition.

The Next Rated category is equally expected to attract significant attention, with Fido, Fola, Llona, Mavo and Shoday competing for the coveted prize. The category has traditionally served as a major platform for identifying the next generation of Nigerian music stars.

The organisers have also announced special honours, with veteran Congolese singer, Awilo Longomba, set to receive the Headies Hall of Fame Award, while Nigerian entertainment executive, Cecil Hammond, will receive the Special Recognition Award for his contributions to African entertainment.

With established superstars, rising acts and a new crop of contenders spread across the categories, attention will now shift to the October ceremony in Toronto, where the nominees will battle for one of Africa’s most recognised music honours.
