On Saturday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “The United States uses its power to give ‘10-ton bombs to the Zionist (Israeli) regime to drop on the heads of Gaza’s children’.”

He dismissed Trump’s recent statements as “an embarrassment to the speaker and the American people” and added, “His remarks aren’t even worth responding to.”

Khamenei described Israel as “a dangerous, deadly cancerous tumour that must be uprooted; it will be uprooted,” reinforcing Iran’s strong opposition to the Israeli government, Reuters reports.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also criticised Trump’s conflicting messages. “On the one hand, he speaks of peace and on the other, he threatens with the most advanced tools of mass killing,” Pezeshkian said.

“Which should we believe?” He stressed that Iran “is not seeking war” but will not “bow to bullying.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi denied that Iran had received any U.S. proposal on its nuclear programme. Writing on X, he said, “There is no scenario in which Iran abandons its hard-earned right to (uranium) enrichment for peaceful purposes…”

Araqchi also criticised Washington’s changing negotiation frameworks, stating, “It is absolutely unacceptable that America repeatedly defines a new framework for negotiations that prolongs the process,” according to state media.

The fourth round of Iran-U.S. nuclear talks concluded last Sunday in Oman, with no new round yet scheduled.
