The Board claimed it made some discoveries regarding Okeke, saying he was admitted 2021 to study Medicine a year ago in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka , UNN.
‎
‎JAMB questioned why a student in his penultimate year of medical studies would suddenly attempt to switch identity and course to Mechanical Engineering in 2025, suggesting manipulation of personal records.
‎
‎The Board explained that all candidate identities during registration are authenticated using the National Identification Number (NIN), and it does not alter any candidate-provided data.
‎
‎the examination body said that evidence indicates that Okeke altered his previously submitted records in 2021 before registering for the 2025 examination—an action acknowledged even by his own supporters.
‎
‎According to the education technology expert, Onyia, revealed that discrepancies in Okeke’s data originated from a 2021 issue, when incorrect details were migrated from the National Identification Number, NIN, platform into JAMB’s database.
‎
‎As of now, the university where Okeke is enrolled(University of Nigeria, Nsukka) has not issued any contrary statement.
