Details have emerged how Bishop who sleeps with women by the altar, Bishop Daniel Obinim was arrested.

Recall our story of last March 17, where Bishop Obinim, the founder and leader of International Godsway Church reportedly gave reasons why he was sleeping with women by the altar of his church.

Not only did that attract widespread rage, some men of God threatened to expose the bishop, threatening to ensure he faced justice.

That now appears to be the case, as the police has arrested Bishop Obinum

Reports by Nana Yaw Kese of Peace FM has indicated how the police came and picked up the controversial cleric.

This is coming after several evasions by the Bishop.

He had reported at his church that day, Thursday, May 14, and began counselling members, unawared that danger was lurking.

Not long after, the police, acting on a tipoff stormed the premises, and arrested him.

Bishop Obinim did not resist the officers but first studied the arrest warrant before requesting for a little time to change his clothes.

By the time, he reappeard, Bishop Obinim told the police that he needed a moment to change his cloth before leaving for the police station.

He came out few minutes later and claimed he couldn’t walk.

The police couldn’t have any of that, and instead took him away to a private hospital with policemen by his side.

Recall that earlier story in which Bishop Obinim, trying to justify his alleged sleeping with female members of his church thus:

“I received direct instructions from God to sleep with my female members on the altar before praying for them, for that’s the only way the can receive their healings faster”.

It appears however that many do not see any ill in the bishop’s ways as they keep seeking his ministration.

The Eagle checks however shows that some people, especially those who had promised him that they would ensure his arrest are uncomfortable that the police allowed him to go to the hospital in the first place, saying that the bishop may find his way back.

One of such persons is a Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.

He believes that Obinim’s collapse was staged, wondering for how long he would continue to evade arrest warrant.

Drama ensued at the premises of an Osun State High Court sitting in Ede on Monday as operatives of the Nigeria Police Force arrested a traditional ruler in the state, the Elegbedi of Egbedi, Oba Muideen Azeez.

Before the arrest, the monarch had appeared before Justice Kudirat Akano on charges bordering on arson.

The royal father appeared before the court alongside Akeeb Azeez Abioye, Yisa Surajudeen Akolapo, Rasidi Ayandiran and Sarafadeen Abioye.

The defendants were alleged to have, among other offences, on September 3, 2019, at a farm in Iloba within the Ede Judicial Division, while armed with firearms and offensive weapons, robbed Wasilatu Akinola and other women processing palm oil with her of about 70 kegs of palm oil, palm kernel, palm fruits, goats and other domestic animals valued at about N10m.

During Monday’s proceedings, defence counsel, M. Atobatele, called four witnesses, including three police operatives and the palace secretary.

While being led in examination-in-chief, one of the police operatives, Assistant Superintendent of Police Akindosu Olusoji, who said he served at the Ido-Osun Police Division between 2019 and 2021, told the court that it was the monarch who had called to complain that someone destroyed his farm, adding that the alleged perpetrators were arrested.

“I and one other officer visited the area in Egbedi. At the farm, I met a pastor and some other labourers using chemicals in a spraying machine to spray the maize crops on the farm and I asked who he was and he said he was the owner of the farm.

“I asked why he was destroying it if he was the owner. So, I got him and the labourers arrested. I obtained their statements and they were detained, and I continued with the investigation. I never arrested any of the defendants. They were the ones who came to complain,” he told the court.
