Expose Him If You Can! – Aisha Yesufu Challenges Adeyanju Over Claims Against Obi

Activist Aisha Yesufu has thrown a challenge to fellow activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, demanding that he present the evidence he claims to have against the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Yesufu, in a post on her account on Friday, acknowledged her continued support for Obi but stressed that any credible evidence of fraud presented by Adeyanju would determine whether she and many others would maintain or withdraw their support for the former Anambra State Governor.

Her comments come in reaction to the ongoing feud between Obi and Adeyanju. Obi, through his legal team, had accused Adeyanju of defamation after he publicly branded the ex-presidential candidate a “political fraud.”

Yesufu noted that she welcomed Obi’s decision to pursue the matter in court, describing it as a civil approach that allows both parties to present their claims. She emphasized that resorting to due process was preferable to using state powers to silence critics.

She wrote:
“Barrister Deji Adeyanju has repeatedly said that he has evidence to show that Mr Peter Obi is a fraud and that Mr Peter Obi should sue him. This is a lawyer speaking!

“As a supporter of Mr Peter Obi, I am interested in the evidence the Barrister has. I would not be one to give support to anyone that is fraudulent, so this case will offer me and millions of others the opportunity to have access to the evidence Barrister Deji has—so we know whether to continue our support for Mr Peter Obi or withdraw it.

“Mr Peter Obi going to court is the civil thing to do. Where one is defamed, especially by a lawyer, then one should go to court.

“If Mr Peter Obi had used machinery of the State to get Barrister Deji arrested and thrown into jail like many of the dictators we fight are doing, then I would be leading a #FreeDejiAdeyanju campaign and calling out Mr Peter Obi!”
