The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has launched an inter-agency innovation competition designed to drive collaboration, creativity and technology-led solutions across federal ministries, departments and agencies.

In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, NASENI said the Inter-Agency Innovation Competition and Awards will provide a platform for public servants to develop practical ideas capable of addressing some of the country’s most pressing challenges through science and technology.

The agency said the programme aligns with its statutory mandate “to develop and maintain a dynamic infrastructure to drive Nigeria’s indigenous industrialisation, job creation and national progress for the country.”

According to NASENI, the competition is aimed at unlocking innovative thinking within government institutions, while encouraging MDAs to work together in developing solutions that can strengthen public service delivery and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.

“This specific initiative amongst the MDAs seeks to harness innovative ideas that can drive technological advancement and address pressing challenges facing the nation amongst public servants,” the agency said.

MDAs have been invited to submit proposals that apply science and technology to sectors such as health, agriculture, education and infrastructure, with a focus on solutions that can deliver measurable impact and long-term benefits.

NASENI said entries should be submitted through its official innovation portal at https://naseni.gov.ng/innovation/.
Encouraging broad participation, the agency described the competition as a collective call to action for government institutions to embrace innovation as a tool for national development.

“Join the movement in driving innovation for a better Nigeria. Together, we can unlock our nation’s potential through innovation in science and technology. Join the movement by submitting your entry,” the statement added.
