A 30-year-old person living with disability (PWD), Mohammed Sadis Buba, has successfully scaled the screening exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the race for the Sabon Gari/Zaria Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Buba, popularly known as “Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau,” appeared before the party’s screening committee in Kaduna State dressed in traditional attire, attracting widespread attention on social media after videos of the exercise surfaced online on Sunday.

The APC aspirant, who lives with dwarfism, is seeking to represent the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

His appearance at the screening sparked reactions from many Nigerians, with supporters describing his ambition as a strong statement about inclusion, courage and determination in politics.

According to party sources, Buba has completed the necessary nomination process, including the purchase and submission of his nomination forms, and has now passed the screening stage conducted by APC executives.

Speaking through supporters, the aspirant’s political message has centered on competence and service delivery rather than physical stature.

“Sometimes, it is not by size, it is what you can command and deliver,” one of his supporters said while reacting to his candidacy.

Observers say Buba’s participation in the contest highlights the growing involvement of persons living with disabilities in Nigeria’s political space and could inspire more inclusive representation in public office.
