Edo PDP guber primary Ighodalo wins in a one-man race

Former chairman of Sterling Bank and Nigerian Breweries, Dr Asuelime Ighodalo, has won the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] governorship primary poll in a one-man race.

The exercise held at the Samuel 0gbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

In the exercise, which outcome was predictable, Ighodalo, who enjoys the support of the state government, the party both in the state and national levels as well groundswell of support by PDP people across the three senatorial zones, practically ran against himself for the coveted party ticket.

Two formidable aspirants, Barr. Omosede Igbinedion and Rt. Hon. Ogbeide Ihama had earlier withdrawn from the contest before voting by the delegates started.

The scores announced after counting by the Electoral Committee are as follows:

Hon Omosede- Withdrew
