What Do You Want Tinubu To Do If You Are Hungry? – APC State Chairman Knocks Nigerians

Published

on

Stanley Okoro Emegha, Chairman of the Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has posited that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot solve the increasing general hardship in the country alone.

He however called on all Nigerians to go into agriculture to combat the economic crisis in the country.

The APC chieftain who stated this at an event in Abakaliki, the state capital urged Nigerians to engage in meaningful ventures and stop blaming the President for their woes.

Questioning if Tinubu had stopped anyone from going to their farm to cultivate crops, he said, “Things are hard in the country now, and the much we can do is to be helping those we are better than. I want everybody to embark on agriculture, let’s feed first. These are the things we can do by ourselves. I have told my family members that we have to go into cultivation. If you have food, I don’t think you will be hungry.

“Government, to some extent, can provide food for certain agricultural programmes. So, why not go into cultivation? Let everybody embark on agriculture.

“If you are hungry, what has Mr. President got to do? Mr. President cannot do it alone, all of us have to join hands and tackle this general hardship.

“Go to the farm, did Mr. President tell you not to farm in your backyard? The answer is no.

“Let’s go and farm, think of what you can produce in your farm. You can produce enough garri and give to others. You can produce enough rice and give it to others. Why must you be waiting for Mr. President to give you money before you can go to your backyard and farm? Did Mr. President seize anybody’s farm? The answer is no.

“Let us first of all know that you can solve the problem by yourself. If there is food sufficiency now, you will see that everybody will boycott Abuja. Go to Aba, see that the people there are comfortable because they don’t depend on the government. If you say that you are an honorable member there, they will look at you as a useless person.”

2024: Harris blasts Trump for suggesting military handle ‘enemy from within’ as they vie for Pennsylvania

Published

By Mario Deepromoter

Vice President Kamala Harris zeroed in on former President Donald Trump ‘s comments suggesting the U.S. military could be used to deal with “the enemy from within” as the two presidential nominees took the fight for battleground Pennsylvania to opposite ends of the state on Monday.

Harris, at her rally in northwestern Pennsylvania, called Trump a serious threat to American democracy who is “out for unchecked power.”

“He considers anyone who doesn’t support him or who will not bend to his will an enemy of our country,” Harris said after playing a clip of the comment on the jumbo screen at her rally at an Erie arena. “This is among the reasons I believe so strongly that a second Trump term would be a huge risk for America, and dangerous.”

Democrat Harris and Republican Trump have been become fixtures in the country’s largest 2024 battleground state. It was Harris’ 10th visit to Pennsylvania this campaign season, and Trump’s Monday town hall in suburban Philadelphia came after visits last week to Scranton and Reading.

Harris is highlighting what she says are examples of Trump’s increasingly “unstable and unhinged” behavior. It’s part of her effort to win over a small universe of undecided voters and tear away even a small slice of traditionally Republican voters in the fight for Pennsylvania and six other closely contested states that are expected to determine who wins next month’s election.

She argued that Trump’s comments in a Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures” interview are the latest example of threatening rhetoric from the former president that should concern Americans about what a potential second Trump term could look like.

Trump made the comment in response to a question about “outside agitators” potentially disrupting Election Day, pivoting to what he said is a foe closer to home.

“I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within,” Trump said. He added: “We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they’re the big — and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen.”

Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, defended Trump’s comments during a campaign stop in Minneapolis earlier Monday.

“Is it a justifiable use of those assets if they’re rioting and looting and burning cities down to the ground? Of course it is. Right?” Vance told reporters. “I think the question is, is it a justifiable use of assets, depends on what’s actually happening.”

Harris and Trump have thrown themselves fully into the race for Pennsylvania.

Trump beat Hillary Clinton by more than 40,000 votes in Pennsylvania on his way to winning the presidency in 2016. But Joe Biden, a Scranton native, beat Trump by about 80,000 votes in the state four years ago.

Both sides believe the race for Pennsylvania could be even closer this time.

Trump spoke at a town hall Monday in suburban Oaks. Responding to a man who said his dream of homeownership feels out of reach, Trump said regulations make it too expensive to build in some places. He repeated his pledge to increase U.S. oil drilling, which he said would drive down costs, though domestic production is already at record highs.

“We’re going to drill baby drill, we’re going to have so much energy and we’re going to bring prices down,” Trump said.

He also claimed that government data from crime statistics to jobless numbers is “fake,” alleging the numbers are manipulated to help the incumbent Democrats.

Edo 2024: PDP, APM, ZLP, others files petition to challenge APC’s victory

Published

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Peoples Movement (APM), All Peoples Party (APP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) have filed petitions at the election petitions tribunal in Edo State to challenge the September 21 victory of the Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Edo Chairman of PDP, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, yesterday at a news conference in Benin, said the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, filed a petition at the tribunal, noting that the legal process to reclaim PDP allegedly-stolen mandate was on course.

Aziegbemi said: “APC did not have a chance of winning Edo governorship election. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not play by the rules, as it was compromised.

“We have filled our petition before the tribunal. I can assure you that the journey to reclaim our mandate has begun, and by the grace of God, your mandate will be returned.

“The allegation that PDP members disrupted the inspection of electoral materials at INEC’s Edo headquarters in Aduwawa, Benin is laughable. In whose interest is the disruption? We applied to the court for inspection, and the court granted us an enrolled order to inspect. Why would we want to disrupt the process?

“In spite of INEC’s feeble attempt to deny us our request for the Certified True Copies (CTC) of all the electoral materials, we were still able to do the needful.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State chapter, has announced the formation of 24-member transition team to work with Governor Godwin Obaseki/Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) transition committee.

Edo Chairman of APC, Jarret Tenebe, made this known yesterday in a letter he addressed to Governor Obaseki.
