Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram has broken its silence over the global service outage on the two social media platforms.
The massive service outage took place on Tuesday leaving people with many questions.
META users on Facebook, Instagram and Threads experienced outages on Tuesday after being unable to log in to their social media accounts.
Hundreds of thousands of users reported login, app and website problems around afternoon according to Down Detector.
Facebook users were unable to log in (even when using their correct password), change their passwords, and receive verification text messages. Instagram users were not logged out of their accounts, but they were unable to refresh their feeds.
Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta said that they are working to fix the problem.
“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X social media.
