Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has given approval for the upgrade of medical facilities for 20 general hospitals across the state with a whopping sum of over 3 billion Naira
Briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive meeting that was presided over by the Governor on Wednesday 13, 2024, the commissioner for information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuaza, said the upgrade becomes imperative for Deltans to enjoy medical treatment.
The State Commissioner for information alongside the commissioner for works, rural roads, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Commissioner for Higher Education and the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon.
Osuaza added that the Exco also approved an upward review of the contract for the uncompleted library unit within the basic sciences building at the College of Health Sciences, Oghara, in the Ethiope West local Government area of the state.
In same vain, the Commissioner for Works rural roads, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, disclosed that the state Government also allocated over N2 billion for compensation for the individuals whose properties will be affected within the right of way for the Enerhen/Effurun flyover.
Osuoza said, during the briefing, that the Governor approved the release of funds for the 2022/2023 session bursary scheme, which is set to benefit over 30,000 students with an amount of N20,000 each.
