Actors Guild of Nigeria reacts to Muonagor’s death
By Francesca Hangeior
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Enugu Chapter, on Monday described the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Amechi Muonagor, 62, as unfortunate.
The Chairman, AGN, Enugu Chapter, Ene Brown, told journalists in Enugu that the deceased battled with different ailments for a very long time.
“His sickness became worse in 2024 with stroke, diabetics and kidney failure.
“Mounago battled with diabetes for over 10 years and has been managing it. It was only these past six months that he started appealing to the public for assistance.
“Just like John Okafor, it is not their fault that they became diabetic.
“We did our best in supporting him with the little we can as an organisation and individuals, but death is inevitable.
“‘Uncle’ as he is fondly called was energetic, friendly and acrobatic; we enjoyed him while he was alive. We really missed him so much,” he said.
On why the industry was recording deaths, Brown said that death is inevitable for everyone adding that the only difference was that their members were popular as actors and actresses.
“We are not God and cannot change nature. People got to know about their death and are reacting,” he said.
Brown said that the organisation was working to ensure that their members attended to their health by going for regular check-up.
“The organisation has initiated a health insurance scheme for members to curtail their health expenses.
“The industry is doing its best to ensure that actors/actresses sign to Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) that allows them access to 600 hospitals in Nigeria,” he said.

Why I prefer younger men – Lolo, aka Adaku
Nollywood actress and media personality Omotunde Adebowale-David, popularly known as Lolo1, has opened up about her unique preferences for men.
In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, the 47-year-old described her taste as “very weird,” explaining her attraction to younger men with distinctive style choices.
She said, “My taste in men is very weird. I like young people; I don’t like old people. I like men with long hair and earrings. I just like someone who is visually appealing. Gone are the days when you were looking for a God-fearing man. Are you even God-fearing yourself?”
“My taste in men is in a class of its own. It’s not because I act like a broke woman; I’m very bougie. I like good things. Any man that isn’t Eurocentric, I’ll find it difficult to connect with because I’m a fine dining girl. You won’t catch me on a date at an amala spot.”
According to the actress, any potential suitor who wants to court her must be well-traveled and exposed to different lifestyles.
“To court someone like me, you must be well-travelled and understand diverse lifestyles. That way, I don’t have to spend time explaining what I want or need,” she concluded.
Despite her specific preferences, the mother of four shared that she remains open to love and would consider a relationship if the right person comes along.
In a 2023 interview with Television Continental( TVC), Lolo1 revealed why her marriage ended.
At the time, she said, “For me, life happened. A lot of times, people go into marriage with only a little understanding of what they’re getting into. They don’t have a clear picture, and unfortunately, their lives unfold during the marriage, making it a make-or-mar situation. I think that’s what happened to me.”

My Experience Working With Funke Akindele – Omowumi Dada Shares Her Account
A lot has been said about what it’s like to work with Nollywood’s box office queen, Funke Akindele. There have been accusations that she is too bossy, and that working with her is like hell. But there are also accounts that she is a total sweetheart and professional. Now, Omowunmi Dada who worked in Funke’s latest movie
Everybody Loves Jenifa is speaking about her own personal experience working with Funke. Here’s what Omowunmi had to say.
Speaking about Funke Akindele and her experience working with her, Omowunmi Dada said:
OMOWUNMI DADA: I would say that Funke Akindele is an enigma. She is an amazingly brilliant and creative person. She is so super creative. Sometimes, I see the things that she does and how, and the funny thing is she’s so blessed that ideas just drop and you’re like “how are these things just dropping in your head?”
So when I saw that she wanted to make “Everybody Loves Jenifa”, like everyone, I’m like what is there to also talk about Jenifa. I mean you’ve had like the series that has over 13 Seasons, you know. What do you want to do? But when I read the script, by the way, the script was so big, it was so humongous. This is very very different.
People will not expect the trajectory of the story, and the the beautiful thing is every day for her the beautiful thing is every day is a day to make it better. So that you read this scene in the script, you read it this way, in the morning she can just wake up and say, I think let us add 1 2 3 4 to make it spicier, to make it sweeter. And by the time she comes on set, and says “so you guys, I know that you have your lines, but please permit me. I’m going to tweak it this way” and you’re like hmmm, I like it, I like it this way. So one thing that does for us as actors is that it put us on our toes. That you have to immediately be able to create greatness within a short period of time.
And she is someone that takes good care of you. Welfare is always amazing. She would just say “oh my darling, how are you? Have you eaten? Do you like the food? Should my chef make it? Please ask Omowunmi whatever it is she wants, just give it to her.” And she’s not just doing that to me, she’s doing to everybody. I don’t know how she does it. It’s to everybody on set, she pays individual attention to your welfare, like how you’re feeling. Like she just wants to know that you are a 100, you cannot be hungry, you cannot be thirsty, no no no.
And one thing is she’s a genius. She has eyes in costume, has eyes in makeup, she has eyes in everything. She doesn’t leave any stone unturned. You cannot come out and costumier has given you one thing, she would even say costumier, make the scarf like this, make it like that. Most of the things, most of the things and the characters that they’ve built, even to hairstyle, they are like her ideas or she builds up on the ideas that the stylist have created.
She is just honestly really brilliant.
