The federal government has frowned on the negligence of those who were in charge of the custody of Binance Executive, Nadeem Njarwalla who recently escaped from detention.
The National Security Adviser, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu who confirmed the escape of Njarwalla, a suspect in the ongoing criminal probe into the activities of Binance in Nigeria, went ahead to give more detail regarding how he escaped from custody.
Speaking via a statement signed by the Head of Strategic Communications, Office of the National Security Adviser, Zakari Mijinyawa, the NSA announced the arrest of those responsible for the custody of Njarwalla before his abscondment from detention.
He also revealed that the detained Binance Executive was able to flee from custody using a smuggled passport while also disclosing that efforts are in top gear to apprehend him again in collaboration with INTERPOL.
Although the identities of those that were in charge of Njarwalla in custody were not disclosed, there are insinuations that they reportedly helped him to escape. To get to the root of the matter, the federal government has ordered a discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding Njarwalla’s escape.
Many Nigerians have called for a serious action against all those who might have played some roles in helping Njarwalla to escape while accusing fingers pointed in the direction those personnel responsible for his custody for either aiding him or colluding with him to facilitate his escape.
