Ministry of Defence staff to embark on a peaceful protest over the alleged killing of their colleague by four naval officers.

This was contained in a notice signed by JEC Secretary, Chibuzo Ibeakanma on April 5th directing all staff to stage a peaceful across all military formations and headquarter in Nigeria.

” I bring you fraternal greetings from the leadership of Joint Executive Council (JEC) Ministry of Defence.

“Base on the meeting of Joint Executive Council (JEC) held on
Thursday 4th April, 2024 on the barbaric brutalization, torture and killing of
Mr. Iheanyi, Richard Onumaegbu by four (4) Naval Officers on the 2nd
of April 2024.

” I am directed to inform all the aforementioned of the unanimous
resolution of JEC to embark on peaceful mourning protest across all the
Ministry of Defence CPU’s, Military formations and Headquarters with
effect from Monday 8′” April, 2024 to Friday 12 April 2024.

“Staff are requested to appear on black attires carrying green leaves as mark of
respect and mourning state throughout the period with the inscription
“Civilian Should be allowed to breath”

” Furthermore, all CPU’s, most especially Lagos should actively
participate and ensure total compliance.
