…in honor of Chief Akpodiete
A Non-governmental organisation (NGO), Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation(OERAF), has donated foodstuff, cash and other items to two orphanage homes( Rose Ilogbo Foundation and Christ Treasured Royal Ministry) in Ughelli, Delta State.
Presenting the cash and food items to the two orphanage homes, Dr. Olotu Otemu Akpodiete JP, Executive Director of OERAF said the gesture was part of the NGO’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Honour of Late Chief Dr. Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete, PhD, 29th year Remembrance.
He said the foundation decided to undertake the project to help in ensuring that the vulnerable and less privileged were taken care of to a reasonable extent and the organization is one that seeks to put smiles on the faces of people by providing basic necessities of Life.
Akpodiete said the NGO had adopted both orphanage homes as it’s annual beneficiaries, where food items, cash and other items would be donated.
The founder of Rose Ilogbo Foundation, Mrs Rose Ilogbo, thanked the foundation for it’s generosity. She said that the home would forever remain grateful for the gifts.
Also, the Chaplain/Director of Christ Treasured Royal Ministry, Rev. Dr. Abraham Erhuotor, said the orphanage was a voluntary, non- political and non-profit making ministry.
He thanked OERAF for the gesture and said his ministry was dedicated to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, irrespective of class, race, tribe, colour or religion. He said the home had also served as home to abandoned infants and children, as well as widows.
Late. Chief. Dr. Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete, PhD was born on 4th April, 1924 and passed on April 9th, 1995. He became the Otota of Ughelli Kingdom in 1986 a high traditional chieftaincy office which he occupied until his demise in April 1995.
