Adanma Luke, a movie producer and actress, has spoken out about the boat disaster that resulted in the deaths of crew members and actor Junior Pope.
Junior Pope was declared dead on Wednesday night following unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him.
The actor and other crew members died in the River Niger area while returning from the set of Another Side of Life, a film produced by Adanma Luke.
Following their deaths, many accused Adanma of carelessness and demanded that she be held responsible for the tragedy.
The mother of one ultimately succumbs to pressure, surrendering herself to the police for questioning.
Moreover, in a latest video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, the filmmaker reveals her side of the story in which she stated that she is still sad and traumatised over the tragic incident.
“I’ve been so traumatised, this whole thing still feels like a dream to me. I just wish I could wake up from this dream. I’ve not been able to make any statement because we’ve been trying to recover the body. It is so sad that this had to happen on my set. I blame myself for coming down to Asaba,” she said in parts.
Summarizing, Adanma also said she ought to be on the boat with the crew but when she reached there, one of the crew members named Emeka informed her of the boat accident.
In her caption, Adanma pointed out that the life jacket was free.
She also claimed in the video that those who wore life jackets survived but her production manager said Junior Pope rejected his life jacket because it was dirty.
“Why me, Life jacket was free,” she wrote.
Adanma also added that she has been making provisions to ensure that the bodies of the victims are returned home for burial.
