Afrobeats singer and filmmaker, Tiwa Savage, has revealed how she got inspired to venture into the music industry despite being interested in acting.
She said she became a musician because she had a crush on a “guy” who was always around musicians.
Tiwa said this in a recent interview with MTV Live while promoting her latest movie project ‘Water and Garri’.
According to Tiwa Savage, acting was her first love before music.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to do acting. Acting was one of my first love before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy and he was always around the musician so I said ‘yeah, forget acting and just go into music.”
Water and Garri is produced by Unbound Studios and its subsidiary JM Films and was shot in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Tiwa wrote and performed the film’s original soundtrack and is an executive producer through her Everything Savage company.
She was cast as a fashion designer with a budding career in the US and returned to her home in Africa to confront the guilt she left behind.
Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde also star in the film.
