A 300-level student of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), in Nasarawa State, Emmanuel Ashim popularly known as Fly Bee, has died as a result of injuries sustained in an attack by unknown assailants.
Ashim, a Theatre and Media Arts student popularly known as Fly Bee, died on Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2024.
According to the Nasarawa Mirror, the assailants attacked Ashim and left him unconscious on the premises of the university.
He was later admitted to the Federal Medical Center(FMC), Keffi for medical attention where he died.
The corpse has since been deposited at the Mortuary in OLA Hospital, Akwanga.
Meanwhile, some students of the university have taken to social media to mourn the death of their schoolmate.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, a coursemate, God’swill Carthy, said that they had been expecting good news that he regained consciousness.
“I can’t believe I am saying these words to you Emmanuel. Your death is really shocking, we were expecting good news that you have regained consciousness not this, my heart bleeds so badly,” he wrote.
“This is not what was bargained for, the pursuit for education has ended just like that. What a pity after years of sufferings, striving and hardship everything just go down the mud oh God! TMA is bereaved! Your death has created a big vacuum in ATMAS. Omo school no safe again oo. Person come school to learn another person come to kill another person’’.
