Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has made significant progress in addressing the state’s outstanding financial obligations.
This was posted on the X handle of the Special Assistant to the governor on Social media, Mr Asortar.
He said, the governor has successfully paid off the state’s 2022 arrears, a commendable achievement that will help alleviate the state’s fiscal challenges.
This move by the Benue State government demonstrates its commitment to prudent financial management and its dedication to meeting its responsibilities to public sector employees and service providers.
By clearing these outstanding debts, the state has freed up resources that can now be channeled towards critical development projects and improved service delivery for the benefit of the people of Benue.
The payment of the 2022 arrears is an important first step, and it is anticipated that more positive developments in the state’s financial affairs will follow. Stakeholders and residents of Benue State can be cautiously optimistic about the government’s ability to maintain fiscal discipline and continue to address the state’s pressing needs in a timely and effective manner.
