Tinubu Re-Constitutes NEITI National Stakeholders’ Working Group

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of a 15-man National Stakeholders’ Working Group (NSWG) for the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).

The Director, Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, said this on Monday in a statement he signed on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

The NSWG, which has the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume as chairman, also has other members as Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, government representative; the Group Chief Executive Officer, NNPC Ltd, Mele Kyari, representative of extractive companies (oil and gas); Mr. Oghenegwueke Ajafia, Oil Producers Trade Section, Lagos Chamber of Commerce (OPTS); President, Miners Association of Nigeria, Mr. Dele Ayanleke; representative of extractive companies (mining); and representative of the Civil Member (to be elected by the CSOs).

The OSGF has written to the CSOs through NEITI to elect and present their representative and the process is on.

Other members of the NSWG board are Engr. Nkechi Isigwe, representative of Women/Geo-scientist, former President, Association of Professional Women Engineers and extractive industries expert; President NUPENG, Comrade Williams Apkoreha, representative of industries union in oil and gas; Barr. Musa Abdullahi Lawan, representative of North-West Zone; Abubakar Mu’azu, representative of North-East Zone; Ambassador Matthew Sunday Adoli, representative of North-Central Zone; Olasupo, Abdel-Jeleel Taiwo, representative of South-West; Chief Israel Ikechukwu Ikwuegbu, representative of South-East; Dr. Stephen Leo Akpan; representative of South-South; and Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, Secretary to the NSWG, Executive Secretary/CEO (in office on 5-year single tenure).

The statement added that the inauguration of the board will be announced in due course.
