The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 4,556 corps members deployed to the FCT) for the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 orientation camp.
City & Crime reports that the oath of allegiance was performed on Tuesday by the Chief Justice (CJ) of the FCT, Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, who was represented by Justice Yusuf Halilu.
The FCT Coordinator of the corps, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka, said 4,556 corps members were duly registered for the orientation, comprising 1,831 males and 2,725 females. The coordinator advised the corps members to shun drug abuse, negative association and other anti-social acts and instead deploy their time for the promotion of national unity and development, noting that any form of negative behaviour would not be tolerated.
She further said, “Always ensure you obtain an official permission before embarking on any journey outside the FCT, and always remember to cut short your trips from 6pm and ensure you have your authentic NYSC identification at all time.”
