A viral video has revealed a 60-year-old man, simply identified as Mr Kenneth, being tortured to death by unidentified men over a property dispute in Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State.
According to a post by police reform advocate, Harrison Gwamnishu, on X, Kenneth had sold a water tank in the family house to address some family issues, an act that allegedly prompted his younger brother to arrest him with the help of a vigilante group.
The post claimed that Kenneth endured hours of torture, repeatedly pleading with his assailants, “What did I do?” while they accused him of theft. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries during the ordeal.
The video sighted by PUNCH Online shows the said man being physically assaulted by two individuals wielding sticks. The victim, who was only wearing shorts and no shirt, had his hands tied behind his back while he cried out in pain.
The footage captured a total of five men present at the scene, with two of them actively beating the restrained man. One of the assailants was seen wearing a Manchester United jersey during the vicious attack.
The post further read, “I wish to call on Governor Soludo and Anambra State Police to act accordingly and ensure these perpetrators don’t escape justice.
“Currently, his wife and children are subjected to fear and intimidation as they have vowed to deal with them if they continue to seek justice for the death of Mr. Kenneth.”
“Ndi Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State, stop shying away from this case and protect the deceased’s wife and children,” Gwamnishu lamented.
