NNPC Signs Agreement For 100,000bpd Refinery Within Port-Harcourt Complex

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL) has taken a significant step forward enhancing Nigeria’s refining capacity with the signing of an agreement for the construction of a 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery facility within the Port-Harcourt refinery complex.

”Today, we are proud to announce a significant milestone in our journey to revitalize Nigeria’s refining sector.

”The agreement for the construction of a new refinery, developed in collaboration with an undisclosed partner, is a testament to our dedication.

”We believe this project will not only meet but also significantly contribute to Nigeria’s demand for petroleum products,” the NNPCL said in a statement.

Once operational, the new facility will play a significant role in Nigeria’s journey towards energy self-sufficiency and economic growth.

With the capacity to refine various petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK), and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), this move aligns perfectly with our aspirations for a more prosperous Nigeria.

Experts say the refinery co-location within the Port-Harcourt complex is strategically positioned to leverage existing infrastructure and resources, optimizing efficiency and reducing costs.
