The grieving mother contests the school’s official statement that her son succumbed to his condition at the hospital, alleging instead that Miguel tragically lost his life within the school premises.

In an Instagram post, she asserted, “Brick Hall School, Abuja killed my son (Miguel, 4 years old) on the 24th of April, 2024… Now, the school is oppressing us, the family of the child, and the school is still open.”

BrickHall School, situated at Cadastral Zone B11, Kaura in Abuja, is owned by Senator Joy Emodi, a former member of the Nigerian Senate and a prominent figure in education advocacy.

According to documents obtained by The PUNCH, Miguel was rushed to Excel Specialist Hospital, Abuja, by his teachers after reportedly choking on food during school hours. Despite medical efforts, he could not be revived.
