President Bola Tinubu has reportedly appointed Wike’s ally, Emeka Woke as the CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.
Emeka Woke was the Chief of Staff to Wike during his time as Rivers State Governor and recently resigned as the Commissioner for Special Projects to Governor Sim Fubara.
The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority plays a crucial role in the management and development of water resources within its jurisdiction, encompassing parts of Ogun and Osun states in southwestern Nigeria.
As CEO, Emeka Woke is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at harnessing the region’s water resources for agricultural, industrial, and environmental purposes, while also ensuring sustainable water management practices.
Tinubu’s decision to appoint Woke is seen as the consolidation of the president’s political alliance with Wike.
Wike is currently at loggerheads with his successor and incumbent governor of Rivers state, Sim Fubara.
